SCOTTSDALE, AZ, USA, Jan 31, 2020 – Open Design Alliance (ODA) announced the release of Visualize SDK 2020 Update 2. Visualize is a feature-rich, high-performance 3D toolkit for engineering applications.
“The new progressive mesh technology in Visualize 2020u2 allows fast generation of mesh data at an arbitrary level of detail,” commented Neil Peterson, ODA President. “It’s important for interactive visualization of large CAD and BIM models, and it’s critical for web-based viewing to enable efficient streaming of mesh data over a network.”
Sergey Vishnevetsky, ODA Development Director, said, “The new Visualize release also supports Level of Detail (LOD) for point cloud data, for fast visualization of large point clouds.
“In addition, our new Common Data Access (CDA) API is now fully integrated with Visualize. Clients can display the full model tree with object properties for a wide range of files—IFC, Autodesk Revit files, .dwg files, etc.—in a single application using the new CDA interface.”
Visualize 2020u2 contains additional enhancements including improvements to PDF export and reduced file size for VSF (Visualize Stream Format) files, as well as fixes for member-reported issues.
