CIMdata Releases eBook on ‘How Siemens NX PMI Enables MBD, MBE and Actualizes the Digital Twin’

ANN ARBOR, MI, USA, Mar 4, 2021 – CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm announces the release of an eBook “PMI—Enabling MBD, MBE, and Actualizing the Digital Twin” focused on Siemens Digital Industries Software’s recent release of NX Model Based Definition, a suite of PMI and MBD enhancements that helps meet tomorrow’s challenges faced by users.

Product modeling solution providers are looking for ways to improve the authoring of PMI within a MBD context. In addition, they seek improvements in the consumption of PMI within downstream applications. Siemens realizes that a critical risk with PMI is to ensure it gets adopted and correctly applied. Siemens introduces major new capabilities in NX to increase the value proposition of MBD/MBE. One new deliverable under the banner name of NX Model Based Definition offers users the ability to capture company-specific business logic in the rapid definition and authoring of PMI and MBD constructs. In addition, this solution introduces a PMI Advisor to help guide users and verify that PMI is compliant with industry and company standards.

Dr. Ken Versprille, CIMdata Executive Consultant, noted “As the concepts of PMI and MBD continue to evolve, the enhancements position Siemens NX at the forefront of MBD implementation in that they address the two most critical aspects of PMI implementations—consistency and validity.”

The CIMdata eBook “PMI—Enabling MBD, MBE, and Actualizing the Digital Twin” is available at: www.CIMdata.com.
