Optellix Launches Xviewr, a Secure Browser-Based 3D Engineering Viewer Designed for Downstream Teams

New solution eliminates CAD licenses, installations, and cloud uploads—bringing real 3D access to manufacturing, quality, assembly, procurement, and service teams.

[Kolhapur, Maharashtra] — [1st December, 2025] — Optellix today announced the launch of Optellix Xviewr, a secure, browser-based engineering viewer that gives downstream teams direct access to real 3D data without requiring CAD licenses, heavy hardware, or specialized tools. The product is designed to address one of the most persistent challenges in engineering workflows: enabling non-CAD users to work with real 3D data easily, securely, and without disruption.

Despite working with complex 3D models daily, design teams often communicate with downstream teams using flattened 2D PDFs, screenshots, or line drawings, materials that lack the clarity and accuracy of the original data. This disconnect results in misalignment, delays, rework, slower ECR/ECO cycles, and significant communication gaps.

Invitation

“Teams across manufacturing, quality, assembly, procurement, and service consistently receive only partial or static versions of 3D information,” said the Optellix founder. “Not because they don’t need the full detail, but because accessing real 3D traditionally requires CAD software, PLM access, powerful workstations, or IT exceptions. Xviewr was built specifically to remove those barriers.”

A New Standard for Downstream 3D Accessibility

Optellix Xviewr runs fully inside the browser, with no installation and no cloud upload required. The solution operates entirely within a customer’s secure environment, ensuring that engineering data never leaves the organization’s network.

Key capabilities include:

  • Support for large STEP files from CATIA, Creo, NX, SolidWorks, and Inventor
  • Point cloud and mesh visualization
  • Sectioning, measuring, exploding, and isolating components
  • Metadata inspection
  • In-browser labels and shared annotations
  • Email-based collaboration for teams across functions

With Xviewr, downstream users can interact with full 3D models using only a browser—no CAD licenses, no high-performance hardware, and no specialized training.

Designed for Real-World Engineering Workflows

Xviewr is developed to eliminate long-standing friction between design teams and downstream departments. By enabling direct access to real 3D content, organizations can accelerate product development, improve clarity across teams, reduce miscommunication, and significantly shorten response cycles for engineering changes.

“For the first time, downstream teams can view 3D models exactly as engineering intended, without conversion steps, without flattened files, and without compromise,” the founder said. We built Xviewr to deliver true 3D clarity anywhere it’s needed.

Availability

Xviewr is now available for early access. Organizations can sign up to test the viewer, request a pilot, or schedule a demo directly on the Optellix website- https://xviewr.optellix.com/login
