ANCA Adds 3000 rpm S1 Headstock Capability to FX Platform

WIXOM, MI, USA, Apr 10, 2026 – ANCA is introducing a major capability upgrade to the FX platform: a new 3000 rpm S1 headstock spindle solution designed to deliver significantly higher surface speeds, improved surface finish, reduced cycle times and expanded grinding capability.

Compared to traditional 600 rpm configurations, the new headstock delivers up to 5× the rotational speed – a substantial increase that directly impacts performance where it matters most: small diameters.

Why 3000 rpm matters

For manufacturers producing a wide range of tools including small and micro tools, surface speed is often the limiting factor in achieving premium finishes and competitive cycle times. The 3000 rpm headstock enables:

  • Higher surface speeds for small diameters
  • Improved surface finish on cylindrical features
  • Reduced cycle times

This is particularly powerful in applications involving small diameter tools and high-finish cylindrical geometries, where increased rpm translates directly into measurable productivity gains.

Enabling complete tools in one setup

Beyond speed alone, the new headstock expands workflow capability. It supports peel grinding combined with tool grinding within a single setup.

This allows manufacturers to:

  • Reduce part handling
  • Minimise re-clamping
  • Improve overall process efficiency

The result is a more streamlined path toward grinding complete tools in one setup, improving both consistency and throughput – delivering immediate practical value in the segments where surface speed and finish quality are most critical.

With the new 3000 rpm headstock, FX enhances finish quality, improves productivity, reduces cycle time and expands capability – especially for small and micro tools – while unlocking peel grinding as part of a complete tools in one setup workflow.
