Eplus3D Introduces EP-M550 Metal PBF Machine with 8-Laser Productivity

HANGZHOU, China, Nov 28, 2025 – Eplus3D, a leading manufacturer of metal additive manufacturing equipment, has consistently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to advancing Metal Powder Bed Fusion (MPBF) technology. Building on the success of our EP-M400S system, we are proud to introduce the EP-M550 – a mid-to-large format metal PBF solution engineered to deliver even greater productivity and an enhanced return on investment.

The EP-M550 effectively bridges the market need for high-speed multi-laser printing within a space-saving design. The machine offers a large build volume of 550 x 550 x 450 mm, yet is housed in a remarkably compact footprint of only 7.6 m² (4000 x 1900 x 2840 mm). This outstanding space-to-capacity ratio makes the EP-M550 an ideal choice for customers whose layout efficiency is paramount.

Compatible with the wide range of materials that our customers are already using – such as titanium alloy, aluminium alloy, nickel alloy, maraging steel, stainless steel, and cobalt chrome – the EP-M550 is an ideal choice for direct manufacturing of large, high-precision, and high-performance parts in tooling, automotive, aerospace, and other relevant industries. The system can be equipped with 4, 6, or 8 lasers, offering tailored performance to match specific production needs. It ensures high throughput with consistent quality across both prototyping and serial manufacturing applications.

Invitation

Building on the proven success of the EP-M400S – which has significantly improved productivity and ROI for customers across the globe – the new EP-M550 retains the same robust design while delivering even greater output. As a true advancement in the compact large-format metal 3D printing, the system’s up to 8-laser configuration enables accelerated production speeds and enhanced manufacturing capacity while maintaining competitive operational economics.

With its flexible laser options, reliable performance, and space-saving footprint, the EP-M550 provides a practical and forward-looking solution for batch production. It helps customers maximize output in limited floor space while reducing overall operating expenses, further extending the productivity and ROI gains first achieved with the M400S – now at an even more attractive cost per part.
