MARLBOROUGH, MA, USA, Feb 25, 2021 – Kubotek3D, a leading supply chain software provider, announced the 3.1 release of the Kubotek K-Compare and K-Display software products. This release provides updates to CAD file translators, user interface improvements, and several new functions.

K-Compare and K-Display 3.1 Updates from Kubotek

Updated CAD Translators

Reading of 3D CAD files across all 3.1 Kubotek software programs has been updated to support the latest versions of five major CAD file formats:

  1. Siemens NX 1946
  2. Siemens Solid Edge 2021
  3. Dassault CATIA V6 R2021x
  4. Dassault SolidWorks 2021
  5. JT 10.5 (ISO 14306)

Additionally, support for the Solid Edge sheet metal file format PSM has been added to each product.

K-Compare Enhancements

The 3.1 release of K-Compare Validate has added support to compare derivative STL models to the original authority CAD model within a specified tolerance. This capability is important for aerospace suppliers ability to validate translations necessary in additive manufacturing processes.

Both K-Compare products have improved interface to quickly compare a selected subset of files from within a large assembly.

K-Display Enhancements

A new Move option has been added in 3.1 which allows selected entities to be temporarily moved and/or rotated in space using a 3D DynaHandle to provide unobstructed view of entities behind it. K-Display users analyzing mesh files such as STL or CGR (or mesh objects from STEP, etc.) can now measure the volume and other mass properties of the mesh.

K-Display Convert also now supports writing to the STEP AP 242 file format and include graphical PMI objects such as GD&T definitions.
