Maplesoft Releases Maple 2024

WATERLOO, ON, Canada, Mar 11, 2024 – Maplesoft announced a major new release of its flagship product, Maple, the powerful and easy to use mathematical software. Maple is used by mathematicians, educators, students, engineers, and scientists to analyze, explore, visualize, and solve math problems. The new release, Maple 2024, leverages powerful AI technology to help customers be more efficient, in addition to a range of improvements that expand problem solving capabilities, enhance usability, and increase support for teaching and learning.

Usability and Power

“For more than 35 years, Maple has been a world-leader in offering smart math tools that help customers accomplish their tasks more easily, and we are excited to continue the tradition with the introduction of AI-powered features in Maple 2024,” says Karishma Punwani, Director of Product Management at Maplesoft. “Not only will customers finish their work faster with a new AI Formula Assistant, but we are already starting to see creative uses of a programming link that lets users build their own AI-powered tools inside Maple. We’re really looking forward to seeing what our customers will do with it!”

With Maple, you aren’t forced to choose between mathematical power and usability, and the improvements in Maple 2024 continue to strengthen both aspects of the software. Key enhancements include:

  • Advanced AI technology provides customers with formulas, equations, explanations, and Maple commands to shorten time spent on tasks and gives them the opportunity to explore the use of AI inside Maple on their own.
  • New cutting-edge algorithms in multivariate polynomial systems, integral equations, summation, matroid theory, and many others mean Maple 2024 can solve even more problems, more quickly.
  • Usability improvements mean customers can call even unfamiliar commands correctly on the first try, without consulting the help pages, with the help of automatic command and argument completion features.
  • The ground-breaking Check My Work feature, which analyses each step of a student’s fully worked solution and helps them identify where they went wrong, has been expanded to cover even more types of problems.
  • The extensive support for units, which allows customers to work with real-world data in a natural way while painlessly keeping track of their units, has been further expanded with built-in units handling in more computations, increased efficiency, and support for new systems of units.

Empowering the minds of today and tomorrow

Maple is used by more than 8000 educational institutions, research labs, and companies, in over 90 countries.  The Maple math engine also lies at the heart of other Maplesoft products, including solutions for education and research, system simulation, calculation management, and systems engineering.  Each one provides access to the world’s most powerful mathematics engine through an easy-to-use interface that is designed to suit the needs of the task. Maple, and products powered by Maple, can be used to solve difficult math problems, learn or teach a mathematical concept, perform engineering design calculations, create virtual prototypes, develop new algorithms, and much more.
