MOSCOW, Russia, Feb 16, 2021 – Nanosoft, the developer of DWG-compatible CAD systems, announces the release of nanoCAD Mechanica 20 – a new version of CAD application for mechanical engineers.
nanoCAD Mechanica is based on the updated nanoCAD Plus 20.1 platform and provides users with new possibilities for modern design.
nanoCAD Mechanica was initially developed to support 2D parametrical design, but since previous version it incorporates 3D solid modeling. nanoCAD Mechanica provides users with feature-based 3D modeling, as well as extended export/import functionality in the most common 3D exchange formats: STL, IGES, STEP, etc.
Key features of nanoCAD Mechanica are based on Library of parametrical design elements. It includes 2D and 3D parametrical items.
- New dimension type was implemented named “Offset dimension”. It is used to set dimension on spline, polyline, ellipse (elliptical arc).
- Detail view with auto update. Functionality of detail views was reworked. New detail view is created as a single object and is updated when the source data is changed.
- Text on drawing was improved. It is possible to create unnumbered lists in technical requirements and technical characteristics. Also there is new setting of display options for fractions.
- New elements were added and changes have been made to the Library of parametrical elements:
- fasteners according to the standards BS EN, CSN EN, DIN EN, NF EN, SFS EN, SS EN, STN EN, UNI EN, DIN EN;
- 3D assemblies of gearboxes (gear reducers);
- fitting parts for hydraulics and piping, etc.;
- behavior of fasteners in assemblies was re-written;
- The 3D Thread tool was implemented to indicate threads in 3D models of parts and assemblies. Threads on models can be chamfered and / or filleted.
- Auto-adjust hatches for 3D solids sections command makes different (by the angle of inclination and by step) hatches of parts in the views with sections – the same part will be shaded in the same way in all sections.
- New 2D Sketch Features were implemented to make it easier to create 3D models.
- 3D spiral can be used as a path for drawing solids with the Sweep operation, as well as the centerline of the Loft operation.
- Other changes:
- The reliability of the 3D object transformation commands has been significantly improved.
- Fixed bugs when working with blocks containing 3D construction elements.
- Classic and Ribbon User Interfaces were improved, etc.
