Trace Software’s archelios PRO 2024 Features 3D Environment Terrain in One Click, Now Available Worldwide

ST. ROMAIN, France, May 20, 2024 – Trace Software is proud to announce the latest innovations developed in the first quarter of 2024 in the photovoltaic design application, archelios PRO.

Aimed at consultancies, architects, fitters and developers, archelios™ PRO is designed to facilitate the design and conception of all sizes of photovoltaic installation. The application is totally online and guarantees a simple user experience, while ensuring a high-quality design.

This latest release enables users to perform faster and more accurate simulations through the development of advanced environmental design features, Bill Of Materials capabilities, and the integration of electric vehicle profiles.

The 3D MAP expands internationally to integrate a 3D environment in one click

The 3D MAP functionality makes it possible to integrate a photovoltaic project’s 3D environment in one click. It automatically takes into account the surrounding vegetation and buildings for a true-to-life visualisation and a quick and accurate assessment of losses due to nearby shading.

DTM (3D terrain) and DSM (3D terrain + surface objects) layers from the Lidar data have also been differentiated. No more need for topographic surveys or site visits!

The 3D MAP functionality, which has already proven its worth in France, is expanding internationally*!

3D MAP is available in:

  • archelios™ PRO Silver – 5 Ha download area included with purchase
  • archelios™ PRO Gold – 10 Ha download area included with purchase
  • archelios™ PRO Platinum – Unlimited download area *

*Subject to a reasonable usage of up to 100 km²

Additional surface credits are available as an option.

Electric vehicles are now available in the self-consumption profile

The number of electric cars has boomed in recent years with a 30% global increase in 2023 alone. This implies an increased electricity demand, promoting both sustainable practices and renewable energies.

To meet this demand, it is now possible to automatically integrate an electric vehicle charging profile into the archelios™ PRO simulation and calculate its consumption as accurately as possible according to its use.

Export a list of materials to prepare invoicing and procurement

To meet the many requests, we have added the option to create and export a list of materials to help with invoicing and supplying a project. This list automatically indicates the modules and inverters chosen in the study and gives the user the freedom to add any other items.

A smoother experience in choosing hardware

When designing an installation and choosing the material, the new filters make it possible to limit the results according to availability by country and obsolescence.

The inverters are now filterable by number of MPPTs, making the design easy and fast.

To achieve increased profitability, some manufacturers allow current overloading of their technology’s MPPTs. In this new version, archelios™ PRO can propose these configurations, allowing you to go up to the inverter’s maximum current. Of course, the simulations will automatically take into account the associated losses and current clipping.

Precise layout plan for system installation

Every photovoltaic system depends on a precise and error-free installation. To avoid risk and provide the necessary information to installation teams, the DXF export now identifies the module chains by MPPT and by inverter. In the latest version, the identification of the first and last modules of each chain is done automatically to facilitate the installation connections.

Other new features include:

  • Update of the PVGIS database Sarah 2007-2020
  • Module alignment in 3D modeling
  • Improved online help (self-consumption – economy)
  • Addition of a specific button for solar canopies
  • Addition of a rotate button in the 3D window, for touchpad users Automatic transmission of the sketchup project’s geolocation to archelios™ pro
