“It is my passion to grow teams on the cutting edge of innovation and I look forward to pursuing that passion further at Formlabs. The company is undergoing massive growth and success – it is exciting to join the team at such a pivotal point in the company’s history,” said Axelrad. “Formlabs currently has over 600 employees globally, and I’m excited to work across the organization to further expand our team and support the people who make the innovations at Formlabs possible.”

2021 has marked a year of growth for Formlabs, which doubled its valuation to $2 billion with a recent $150 million Series E funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2. As the company moves towards aggressive global growth, expanding and supporting the Formlabs team will be critical to success. An accomplished leader with a strong track record of scaling teams, Axelrad is well suited to support the continued growth of Formlabs and bring on key engineering talent across the company’s product lines. During her 10 year tenure at Wayfair, Axelrad was instrumental in growing the team from a midsize start up to a global powerhouse with a total workforce of more than 20,000 people worldwide. Her experience will provide Formlabs with the programs, processes and resources needed to seamlessly scale Formlabs into a leading global brand.

“Marcy’s background and proven leadership is invaluable to Formlabs as we embark on the next stage of growth and look to reach the aggressive goals that we’ve set for ourselves as a company,” said Max Lobovsky, CEO and co-founder of Formlabs. “Making sure Formlabs can attract and retain a talented and high-performing team is critical for our success. That is a job for the whole leadership team at Formlabs, but Marcy will be the driver behind that effort.”
