The company, founded in 2014 by Aleksander Ciszek and Stephan Kühr at the Technical University in Berlin, entered additive manufacturing when the industry was primarily focused on prototyping parts. Ciszek and Kühr saw an opportunity to provide software solutions that maximize additive manufacturing knowledge. Their goal was to allow customers to analyze part designs to determine whether they could be produced with additive manufacturing and, if so, at what cost. 

Since 2014, 3YOURMIND has been tireless in its efforts to make additive manufacturing technology more accessible. In its initial iteration, 3YOURMIND developed an Uber-inspired marketplace platform that connected consumers with providers offering 3D printing services.
