Chaos Releases Envision to Help Architects, Designers Create Immersive Presentations

KARLSRUHE, Germany, May 21, 2025 — Chaos releases Chaos Envision, a new real-time storytelling tool that helps architects and designers turn 3D models into immersive, cinematic presentations in minutes. With Envision, they can effortlessly explore and handle complex scenes—including CAD files—and assemble them into striking animated projects that can tell emotionally compelling visual stories, all within a streamlined, efficient workflow.

“Envision offers new alternatives for architects that have had to find workarounds to avoid compromising on quality, speed and flexibility in their presentations,” said Petr Mitev, vice president of solutions for designers at Chaos. “Now, anyone can produce high-fidelity visuals much earlier in the process, tapping V-Ray-like photorealism to resolve internal questions and get more stakeholders on board.”

No Bottlenecks

Envision makes it easy to bring multiple 3D components into a collaborative environment to create scenes that are packed with key building, site and material information. Envision accepts content from any application that hosts Enscape or V-Ray and can import common industry formats, so users don’t have to worry about scene prep or data loss. All lighting, materials and assets from their original CAD or Enscape design will carry over as-is, so designers can start experimenting right away.

Whether it’s tweaking objects, animating crowds or adding entourage with Chaos Cosmos, designers can craft visualizations that showcase the true promise of any building or environment. Envision keeps visualization decisions intact through the iterative process, removing the need to restart as designs evolve.

Each visualization will also be rendered with ray-traced realism, giving designers access to real-time and offline accuracy, even when polygon counts run into the trillions. With physically accurate lighting, reflections, shadows and global illumination always on tap, designers can ensure high-fidelity visuals throughout the design and presentation process.

“I was fortunate to be one of the first to try Chaos Envision and found it extremely user-friendly and easy to learn,” said David Tomic, an award-winning architect and AEC influencer. “What stands out to me is being able to import different rendering software files into Envision and edit them there without having to go back to the original programs, all without any lag.”

Easy Animation

Envision offers architects and designers the easiest path to creating cinematic animations on the market. Through a direct integration with the Chaos Anima engine, users can now drag-and-drop hyperrealistic 4D people and crowds with AI-enhanced behavior into scenes, and then direct their movement by assigning them a path. Paths can also be applied to other objects and cameras for more cinematic looks.

In addition, Envision supports variation-based animation to help designers depict sun studies, construction phasing or even cycle through design options. With these features, most visualization teams can start animating in minutes.

Introducing Chaos Suites

For years, Chaos has been building a unique, comprehensive ecosystem that targets every stage of the architectural design and visualization process. To make it easier for users to select the right tools and ensure faster, more efficient workflows, it has created a set of curated suites designed to solve real workflow challenges in architectural design, architectural visualization, and media and entertainment.

Altair Joins MAM4HP Project to Advance Additive Manufacturing in Italy

TROY, MI, USA, May 19, 2025 – Altair, a global leader in computational intelligence, announced its involvement in the Metallic Additive Manufacturing for High Performances (MAM4HP) research program, part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU resources. The project brings together some of the most innovative Italian companies and focuses on the development of additive manufacturing technologies.

“Altair is proud to support MAM4HP and help advance Italy’s additive manufacturing capabilities,” said Stefano Deiana, vice president, Spain, France and Italy, Altair. “By combining our simulation and optimization technologies with the ingenuity of other MAM4HP partners, we’re accelerating innovation and enabling the next generation of components.”

Spanning over 18 months, the MAM4HP project is structured in two phases. The first phase focuses on the redesign and structural optimization of mechanical components to ensure they’re suitable for additive manufacturing. The second phase will focus on optimizing printing parameters and post-production processes.

As part of the program, the Altair HyperWorks design and simulation platform will allow redesign activities to be developed in accelerated timelines, providing designers with solutions ready for subsequent manufacturing. Altair’s solutions will also be used to analyze specific shapes, which allow the sizing of particularly critical artifacts to be optimized.

Other MAM4HP partners, including Leonardo, Ducati, Bonfiglioli, Poggipolini, and Jumo Design, have proposed use cases to redesign components for additive manufacturing based on a design for additive manufacturing approach.
