CADEXSOFT Launches Manufacturing Toolkit 2025.8 for Quoting, DFM, and MaaS Platforms

CADEXSOFT announces the release of Manufacturing Toolkit 2025.8 — a CAD SDK for developers building quoting, DFM, and MaaS platforms.

Manufacturing Toolkit 2025.8 major features:

  • Enhanced PDF and unfolding support;
  • Improved CNC hole and pocket recognition;
  • Wall thickness visualization.

PDF Import Improvements and Web Visualization

MTK 2025.8 enhances PDF drawing import by representing text and hatching as proper 2D semantic elements, rather than curves. Solid fill is now supported as a dedicated fill type. The Drawing Exploration example has been updated accordingly. Imported drawings can now be converted to .MTKWEB format for direct visualization in web applications.

Unfolding Support for Complex Formed Sheet Metal Features

In MTK 2025.8, sheet metal unfolding capabilities have been significantly expanded. Beyond improvements to basic forming cases (e.g., bridges and louvers), the unfolding engine now supports complex formed features that previously could not be unfolded.

This includes drawn and punch-formed geometry (with or without associated cuts or openings), embossed features, and other localized forming details commonly found in real-world stamped and formed sheet metal parts.

CNC Machining Feature Recognition Improvements

Hole recognition for holes consisting of B-spline surfaces has been improved. The logic for determining hole bottom geometry has been corrected.

A new API, Machining_Pocket::MaxCutterRadius(), has been introduced to calculate the maximum feasible cutter radius for pockets with internal features like bosses. This aids in reliable tool selection and machining logic.

Configurable Precision in MTKConverter JSON Reports

JSON report grouping now considers dimensions equal if their difference is less than 0.005 (5e-3 precision), reducing the number of groups for manufacturing features and DFM issues with negligible differences.

In addition, the new DoubleParameterPrecision() method has been added to  Utilities::JSONSerializer, allowing users to control comparison precision, addressing issues from double-precision truncation.

Wall Thickness Visualization

In MTK 2025.8, wall thickness visualization has been added to MTK Web and MTK Workbench. The results are displayed as a heat color map, enabling intuitive inspection of thickness distribution directly on the model.

A new overload of WallThickness_Data::GetThickness() enables querying thickness at mesh triangles’ vertices for accurate mapping on mesh-based models.

In addition, the MTKConverter C++ example for the Wall Thickness workflow has been updated to demonstrate how to prepare analysis data for visualization in MTK Web.

MTK Workbench Improvements

MTK Workbench updates include: Wall Thickness analysis with heat color map visualization, triangle-based selection mode for mesh-only models, ability to collapse and expand side panels, background processes panel, and scene actions: Show only (displays selected object), Show all (displays all objects), Fit selected (fits view to selected element).
