IRVINE, CA, USA, Mar 8, 2021 – EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces a new partnership with Central University of Technology (CUT) to bring a campus-wide EON-XR rollout to the institution.
As a high-tech university of technology in Bloemfontein, the capital of the Free State Province of South Africa, CUT has long been a proponent of utilizing e-learning and other digital aspects within their education. But during the COVID-19 pandemic, it became apparent to them that they needed to improve their “hands-on” abilities for remote labs and other interactive learning experiences. That’s why they’ve partnered with EON Reality to deliver an EON-XR rollout to their students and faculty.
Given CUT’s experience with technology and remote learning, they’re an obvious choice to become EON Reality’s latest partner in the region. While the initial partnership will focus on the EON-XR rollout for students and faculty at CUT’s Bloemfontein campus, the hope is for EON Reality’s presence in the area to expand the XR solutions beyond the campus walls and to both educators and employers throughout the entire city.
“We are excited to be a part of the EON Reality family and to set up an EON-XR Center in Bloemfontein. EON-XR will benefit our students, staff, and community in many ways. Not only will it provide remote access to education, but it will allow us to broaden our content scope.” Professor David Ngidi, Acting Vice Chancellor and Principal of CUT.
