Mastrex Joins America Makes

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ, USA, Oct 20, 2026 – Mastrex, a developer of laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) metal additive manufacturing systems, has joined America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, becoming part of a nationwide network focused on advancing additive manufacturing technologies and strengthening U.S. manufacturing.

The decision reflects Mastrex’s growing involvement in the U.S. additive manufacturing market and its broader goal of making industrial metal 3D printing more accessible to manufacturers, research organizations, and educational institutions.

“Mastrex is committed to supporting U.S. manufacturing and strengthening the domestic ecosystem for high-performance metal additive manufacturing. Joining America Makes gives us the opportunity to contribute through collaboration, technology development, workforce growth, and greater transparency across the supply chain. We are proud to be part of an organization focused on advancing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness. ” — Nate Harris

Through America Makes, Mastrex will have the opportunity to connect more closely with companies, researchers, government organizations, and other members of the additive manufacturing community. The membership will support greater collaboration, knowledge exchange, and participation in initiatives addressing some of the key challenges still facing wider adoption of metal additive manufacturing.

“We are excited to welcome Mastrex to America Makes,” said John Wilczynski, Executive Director of the Institute. “Their commitment to advancing metal additive manufacturing and making industrial 3D printing more accessible aligns perfectly with our mission. By joining our community, Mastrex brings valuable expertise and energy to our collaborative efforts to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and drive innovation across the industry.”

For Mastrex, those challenges go beyond machine performance alone. Cost, process development, materials, training, and the ability to integrate additive manufacturing into existing operations all play an important role in how easily companies can adopt the technology. Joining America Makes gives Mastrex another way to contribute to these conversations while continuing to develop LPBF systems focused on industrial performance, flexibility, and more accessible adoption.
