SCOTTSDALE, AZ, USA, Sep 3, 2021 – Open Design Alliance (ODA), the leading provider of CAD and BIM interoperability solutions, announced ODA Summit 2021, to be held on September 21st, 2021. The summit brings together engineering software professionals to discuss industry trends, best practices for CAD and BIM development, and advancements in ODA technologies. Guest speakers include representatives from buildingSMART International (bSI) and Google.
The summit will focus on the following technology areas:
- CAD Interoperability. Latest advancements in ODA’s universal CAD engine for DWG.
- BIM Interoperability. Independent support for working with Autodesk® Revit® and Navisworks® files, along with ODA’s industry-leading solution for IFC including a new validation module and support for the OpenCDE (Common Data Environment) standard from buildingSMART International.
- Beyond Data Interoperability. Fast-track your application development with ODA solutions for visualization, web development, PDF publishing, solid modeling, and more.
In addition, the summit includes member presentations from industry leaders that showcase the use of ODA technologies in real-world applications.
“We’ve expanded the event format this year to include two new industry discussion panels,” said Neil Peterson, ODA President. “The first panel will provide an industry perspective on scan to BIM, ODA’s new project to automate the conversion of LIDAR scan data to BIM models. The second will focus on the new IDS validation standard from bSI, which is being developed to improve the quality and usability of IFC for the broader industry.
“If you’re curious about ODA, the summit is a great opportunity to learn more about our technologies, future plans and our vital role within the industry.”
