ARENDAL, Norway and SHERBROOKE, QC, Canada, Nov 6, 2026 – Tekna (OSE: TEKNA), a world-leading provider of advanced materials and plasma systems, is pleased to announce that the company has received significant orders for titanium metal powder amounting to CAD 1.2 million. The orders are expected to be delivered throughout 2027.
The orders were placed by a major US-based contract manufacturer of medical implants. They comprise Ti64 titanium alloy powder in the particle size range suited to laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), an additive manufacturing process used to build complex, high-precision components.
“We are pleased to receive these orders, confirming the strong demand for our powders in medical applications,” said Tekna CEO Claude Jean. “The growing use of advanced implants and wider adoption of additive manufacturing technologies across the healthcare sector are driving rapid growth in the market for advanced materials. The orders we have received this quarter further strengthen our position as a trusted materials supplier to medical device manufacturers.“
Suppliers to the medical device industry are typically required to hold certified quality management systems. Tekna has a well-established track record in the medical sector, and its Materials business area has recently renewed its ISO 13485:2016 certification for the design and manufacture of medical devices. The certification confirms that Tekna’s processes, materials and quality system meet the stringent requirements of medical applications.
