STAFFORDSHIRE, UK, Jul 1, 2021 – Theorem Solutions is pleased to announce the release of V24.1 of Creo-3D PDF publisher from the Publish product range, which now supports supports Creo 4.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0.
Our Publish products enable the publishing of 3D Creo data directly from within the design application into an interactive 3D PDF document format, or an HTML5 output for use in web browsers.
The web browser version mirrors the interactive PDF format, giving users the ability to access 3D documents in all available browsers, whether on desktop, tablet or mobile devices (IOS and Android) making it a great asset to automate the build of interactive online catalogues and parts lists directly from source CAD.
This means that users can output both PDF and HTML5 outputs at the same time, giving them the best of both worlds, and still protecting the IP as users are only viewing a representation of the data.
3D PDF has many use cases and opens up access to CAD and Visualization data that was previously only accessible to engineers and designers:
- Inspection Reports for Quality and Inspection Departments
- Works Instructions for Manufacturing Departments
- Request for Quotation for Purchasing Departments
- Engineering Change Request for Engineering Departments
- Bill of Materials (BOM) for Manufacturing Departments
The inclusion of Theorem’s Unified Interface (UI) with our Publish 3D On Demand product provides the opportunity for multiple PDF publishing from a single data source. Our UI helps the development and streamlining of translation and downstream processes by allowing engineering data to be filtered, viewed, interrogated, manipulated and translated interactively or in batches with the ability to publish user specific documentation.
Publish products support the publishing of Model Based Definition (MBD) data, 3D annotations (PMI) and model views from Creo into the 3D PDF format. It offers greater levels of Intellectual Property (IP) protection with support for Document Rights Management (DRM) ranging from separate passwords to control the 3D PDF output, to full integration with DRM systems.
Anybody with access to the freely available Adobe Reader, either on a PC, tablet or smartphone can access the interactive 3D data and are able to view, mark up and interrogate the document without the use of specialist CAD software. 3D PDF documents are lightweight enough to send via email which makes them ideal for sharing within an organisation, or with the wider supply chain.
As 3D PDF is an ISO standard (ISO 24517-1 (PDF/E), the technology can be easily integrated and can effectively become the protocol for easy, seamless document creation and communication.
Our strategic partnership with PTC ensures that there is parallel development between the latest releases of Creo, and our Publish products, allowing us to continue to provide publishing solutions for the Creo community.
