WESTMINSTER, CO, USA, Sep 20, 2024 – Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) has unveiled Trimble Inspections, a new Driver-Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) solution for commercial fleets designed to improve fleet safety and efficiency, promote regulatory compliance, and simplify driver and back-office workflows.
Available through Trimble Instinct – Trimble’s flagship telematics and fleet management software solution – Trimble Inspections adds a modernized, more streamlined truck and trailer inspection application to Instinct’s best-in-class driver experience. This new inspection application allows drivers to inspect both tractor and trailer simultaneously within the same workflow to help them save time, boost efficiency, and eliminate the need for multiple interfaces and applications. Trimble Inspections also supports safer fleet performance and streamlined fleet maintenance efforts with the ability to connect its inspection workflow with leading maintenance solutions, like Trimble’s TMT Fleet Maintenance™ and Penske’s maintenance portal. These direct integrations enable an efficient closed defect loop experience with seamless repair order workflows, including automatic alerts to fleet maintenance managers of the need for vehicle repair if a driver reports a defect during their pre- or post-trip inspection.
Trimble Inspections also consolidates truck and trailer inspections into a single workflow for the many fleets that operate in both the U.S. and Canada as one of the latest DVIR solutions that complies with U.S Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) regulations.
With its customization capabilities, Trimble Inspections enables back-office fleet managers to create configurable checklists based on load and truck type as well as specific business needs. On the road, this allows drivers to inspect their assets using easy-to-follow inspection workflows customized for their specific journey, eliminating unnecessary steps often contained in more-standardized inspection systems.
“Trimble is committed to providing real value to our customers, and is focused on helping them in the areas of safety and compliance. Adding a next-gen DVIR solution to the Trimble Instinct eco-system continues to prove that commitment,” said Paul Cardosi, VP of telematics and fleet management at Trimble. “With Trimble Inspections, fleets have the power to tailor inspections based on their unique and ever-evolving business needs while satisfying federal compliance standards.”
Trimble Inspections is currently available for all Instinct customers in North America and Canada.
