AUSTIN, TX, USA, Jul 15, 2026 – Bambu Lab and Insta360 announced an official co-marketing collaboration, launching the Insta360 Luna Ultra Design Challenge on MakerWorld. Running from July 10 to August 9, 2026, this joint initiative democratizes accessory customization by releasing public 3MF and STL files for creators to build precision-fit camera gear. With the launch of its official brand page, Insta360 also becomes the first camera brand to establish an official presence on MakerWorld.
Expanding Camera Customization Through 3D Printing
Think Bold. Print Bold. That’s the ethos driving this first-of-its-kind collaboration between Insta360 and Bambu Lab. This collaboration gives creators the freedom to think outside the box, shifting the experience from simply operating a camera to personalizing its look with custom-made camera gear. By moving past the limits of off-the-shelf parts, creators can now build custom, user-driven gear perfectly tailored to their unique taste or shooting environments.
The official 3MF and STL design files for the Luna Ultra are now available for public download on MakerWorld, empowering anyone to immediately begin building and printing custom hardware around the camera body.
“We see a shift where creativity doesn’t stop at capturing images—it extends into building and shaping the tools themselves. This collaboration between Insta360 and Bambu Lab brings together imaging and the maker community for the first time in this way, bringing creators the freedom to push the boundaries of what’s possible. ” — Max Richter / Co-founder & Vice President of Marketing, Insta360
How the Challenge Works
To celebrate this collaboration, Insta360 and Bambu Lab are launching a dual-track competition designed to engage with designers, engineers, and creative minds. Participants can enter either—or both—of the following tracks:
Track A: Model Design Challenge
Built for 3D designers and engineers to create and upload their custom creations using the hashtag #PrintForLuna. Download the official Luna Ultra 3MF or STL design files on MakerWorld to build and upload precision-fit physical camera gear. Submissions focus on two core categories:
- Practical Add-ons (stability mounts, filming rigs, advanced creator tools) and
- Creative Mods (aesthetic covers, playful holiday themes, stylistic upgrades).
With MakerWorld’s 1-click printing via the Bambu Handy App, these community-designed assets can be instantly brought to life by users worldwide.
Full contest details, rules, and model submission guidelines are available on MakerWorld Luna Ultra Design Contest.
Track B: Social Content Challenge
Built for creators, filmmakers, and imaging enthusiasts. Share your original Luna Ultra gear, DIY modifications, hand-drawn design concepts, or creative accessory ideas on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or Reddit (r/Insta360).
Submissions can be photos, videos, or written ideas, and can be captured using any filming equipment. To enter, tag your post with the hashtags #PrintForLuna, #BambuLab and #Insta360LunaUltra. Follow our official brand social media accounts to find full details and updates for this challenge.
