PARSDORF, Germany, Aug 31, 2026 – With the new LRXplus Twin, KraussMaffei is expanding its successful LRXplus series with a high-performance multiple kinematic system developed specifically for demanding automation processes in injection molding technology. The LRXplus Twin combines maximum robustness, intuitive operation and flexible integration options – making it the right fit every time, regardless of machine, manufacturer or process complexity.
The new linear robot LRXplus Twin is available in the Twin X and Twin Z variants and covers load capacities from 35 to 100 kg. Mechanically coupled axes enable highly precise parallel movements and flying handovers (“handshake”), significantly reducing cycle times and enabling efficient synchronization of production processes.
With the LRXplus Twin, we are bringing an automation solution to the market that noticeably eases the daily production challenges of our customers. The combination of multiple kinematics, high robustness, and intuitive operation makes it possible to implement complex processes easy, fast, and reliable. The Twin demonstrates what KraussMaffei stands for: solutions that can be used flexibly and deliver real added value for our customers. It simply always fits.” Markus Bauer, Managing Director KraussMaffei Technologies
Robust linear axes for maximum technical availability
The axes of the LRXplus Twin have been systematically designed for rigidity, crash resistance, and a long service life. The optimized material mix of aluminum and steel prevents deformation even at maximum speed. Should a collision nevertheless occur, damage remains superficial – with no production downtime and minimal repair effort.
This robust design significantly increases technical availability and reduces service costs. For operators, this means greater safety, less downtime, and higher cost-effectiveness.
High operating convenience and easy maintenance
The new smartControl MC7 system is the heart of the LRXplus Twin. It enables centralized programming and control of up to four robots with six axes each – a total of 24 axes in one system.
A shared coordinate system, a modern HTML5 program editor and tactile hard keys ensure intuitive operation as well as a fast and safe setup. The ergonomic handheld with multi-touch display makes it easier to teach complex motion sequences.
Repositioning the control cabinet on the floor ensures an easier access during maintenance. It also features a powerful ventilation system, allowing the robot to produce without interruption even at high ambient temperatures.
Flexible integration into all injection molding machines – simply always fits
The LRXplus Twin can be operated both as an integrated solution and as a standalone system. This makes it compatible with modern KraussMaffei machines as well as with older control generations or systems from other manufacturers.
In combination with flexible gripper solutions, modular peripherals, and turnkey automation cells, the result is a solution tailored precisely to the customer’s requirements.
Whether pick-and-place, assembly, sorting or complex process linking – the LRXplus Twin is the right fit every time and offers maximum futureproofing.
