BEAMIT, Leonardo Helicopter Collaborate for Series Production using AM Technology

FORNOVO DI TARO, PARMA, Italy, Jan 9, 2024 – BEAMIT Group is delighted to announce that BEAMIT and Leonardo Helicopter have strengthened their cooperation by signing a contract to produce several components using additive manufacturing technology for the upcoming 5 years.

BEAMIT started the collaboration with Leonardo Helicopter in 2018 to develop and qualify the AM process, defining all the steps needed for standardization.

Leonardo Helicopter now has more than 25 parts qualified with BEAMIT that are currently installed on key helicopters like the AW189, AW169 & AW609.

This is a huge achievement for both parties considering all the testing performed, risk analysis, process validation, and standards that are a must for the aviation industry in order to provide safe components to the end customer.

Top management commitment and employee professional work and competences have been key throughout the process, based on several years of experience in the aerospace business that has been recognized by the customers like Leonardo in the AS&D industry.
