Hexagon Appoints Maria Luthström and Gordon Dale as Joint Presidents of its Autonomous Solutions Division

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Apr 8, 2024 – Hexagon AB, the global leader in digital reality solutions, combining sensor, software and autonomous technologies, today announced the appointment of Maria Luthström and Gordon Dale as joint Presidents of the Autonomous Solutions (AS) division, effective 1 May 2024. Both will join the Hexagon Executive Management team, reporting directly to Paolo Guglielmini, President and CEO, Hexagon. Michael Ritter, the current President of AS, will retire at the end of 2024 following a transition period.

AS, launched in 2022, combined the Autonomy & Positioning (A&P) and Mining divisions. A&P pioneers end-to-end solutions for autonomy and high-accuracy positioning across terrestrial, maritime, and aerial domains by providing precision positioning and perception technology. Mining empowers mines to connect all parts of their business with technologies that make sense of data in real-time by integrating, automating and optimising critical workflows.

Maria Luthström has been President of Hexagon’s A&P division since October 2022. She joined Hexagon in 2015 and previously headed Hexagon’s Sustainability and Investor Relations functions, expanding the company’s strategic and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) agenda, strengthening Hexagon’s culture and increasing shareholder value. Luthström holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics.

Gordon Dale has been Chief Operating Officer of the A&P division since 2016 and has been instrumental in the formation of the AS division in his capacity as Chief Synergy Officer. He has been part of Hexagon for 16 years, having joined via Hexagon’s acquisition of NovAtel, the global leader in high-precision positioning technology. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.

“Maria and Gordon bring impressive track records and have been instrumental in driving growth and success in their respective areas of responsibility. I wish them the best of luck in their new roles. They will work closely with Michael Ritter and I to ensure a smooth transition and continuity,” says Paolo Guglielmini, President and CEO, Hexagon.

Speaking on the retirement of Michael Ritter, Guglielmini added: “For the past 15 years Michael has been a visionary and a driving force behind A&P and the new AS division. Under his leadership, Hexagon’s A&P and AS divisions have grown significantly and have become a key contributor to Hexagon’s success. I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Michael for his outstanding service and dedication to Hexagon. He has made a lasting impact on our company and the industry.”
