HANOVER, MD, USA, Oct 14, 2025 – Phillips Federal is proud to play a key role in a transformative project that is reshaping Hawaii’s industrial landscape and reinforcing our nation’s defense readiness. Through the delivery of Haas machines, tooling, and equipment, Phillips Federal supported the establishment of the new Advanced Manufacturing Program Facility at Honolulu Community College (HCC) — a state-of-the-art training hub designed to strengthen the Department of Defense’s industrial base and create a robust pipeline of skilled talent across the islands.
This project is a direct result of a major investment by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program, which funded over $15 million in advanced manufacturing equipment, including 8 Haas HKMs and an extensive suite of machining tools provided by Phillips Federal. Our team worked closely with stakeholders to ensure that the technology delivered to HCC empowers a new generation of students, active-duty military, and workforce professionals with hands-on training in welding, precision machining, and ship repair.
As the first facility of its kind, this program marks the beginning of an industrial resurgence in Hawaii, aligning workforce development with the strategic needs of the military. The center will support military readiness, facilitate repairs for U.S. naval ships, and open doors to high-paying, high-skill jobs across the state.
