GLOUCESTERSHIRE, UK, Sep 11, 2026 – Renishaw is proud to announce the launch of its new XC100 environmental compensator at IMTS 2026 and AMB 2026. The XC100 compensator builds on Renishaw’s proven XC-80 technology to deliver real-time automatic wavelength correction, achieving an improved 0.4 ppm linear laser measurement accuracy.
The XC100 compensator measures air temperature, air pressure, and relative humidity, then automatically adjusts the measured laser wavelength. It also measures material temperature, enabling calibration results from machines operating at different temperatures to be normalised to a standard temperature. Compatible with the XL-80 laser interferometer, XM-60 and XM-600 multi-axis calibrators, and CARTO software, it provides a seamless experience across Renishaw’s calibration product range.

Designed for maximum flexibility, the XC100 compensator supports any combination of air and material sensors, enabling comprehensive measurement of environmental conditions throughout the machine volume. The high-resolution LCD touchscreen display, flexible sensor configuration and versatile mounting features help users adapt the system for a range of calibration applications.
“The XC100 simplifies the process of precision laser calibration,” said Laurence Rosser, Product Manager at Renishaw. “By combining real-time environmental monitoring with seamless CARTO software integration, users can be confident in their measurement results, even in changing conditions.”

See the XC100 environmental compensator in action at IMTS 2026, Chicago, USA, from 14 to 19 September and at AMB 2026, Stuttgart, Germany from 15 to 19 September.
