LOD, Israel, Feb 2, 2026 – Massivit 3D Printing Technologies (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: MSVT), a leading provider of large-format additive manufacturing systems, has announced the appointment of Daniel Birnbaum and Brigadier General (Reserve) Gabriel Shachor to the company’s Advisory Board. The announcement marks a milestone in the company’s strategic refocus on the defense, aerospace and aviation industries.
Daniel Birnbaum, former SodaStream CEO, reunites with Massivit CEO, Yossi Azarzar, after the two previously led SodaStream’s successful turnaround and accelerated growth. Birnbaum has proven management experience in building global companies and together with Azarzar, jointly led SodaStream’s turnaround, culminating in its acquisition by PepsiCo in 2018 for USD 3.2 billion.
Joining Birnbaum on the Advisory Board is Brig. Gen. (Res.) Gabriel Shachor, a former fighter pilot and commander of Palmachim Airbase, who played a key role in the development of unmanned aerial systems. Shachor brings decades of in-depth familiarity with procurement, integration and implementation processes within defense systems, alongside proven entrepreneurial experience as the founder and successful seller of drone company Sky Sapience.
At the core of Massivit’s renewed focus is its Cast In Motion (CIM) technology, which enables the rapid production of large molds and tooling for composite parts, a critical component in the development of defense systems, aircraft and protective solutions. While traditional manufacturing methods require three to six months to produce such molds, Massivit’s technology reduces the process to just a matter of days.
This dramatic reduction provides a substantial competitive advantage, enabling accelerated development of UAVs, aerospace systems and structural components at a pace aligned with today’s dynamic security environment. To support this, the company has developed, in collaboration with global chemical leader Sika, dedicated materials that meet extreme conditions and stringent defense standards, some of which have already been implemented within the local UAV industry. The solution removes key logistical barriers, eliminates lengthy sourcing processes for materials and tooling, and allows companies to focus their resources on product optimization and faster time-to-market.
The two appointments are a direct continuation of Massivit’s effort to build a new, highly professional management structure, which began approximately one year ago with the appointment of Yossi Azarzar as CEO. The move follows Massivit’s announcement several months ago regarding the expansion of its activities from traditional industrial-civilian markets toward becoming a rapid, technology-driven manufacturing platform tailored to the stringent requirements and timelines of the defense and aerospace sectors. As part of this transition, the company is currently undergoing a streamlining and reorganization process under the leadership of Azarzar.
Yossi Azarzar, CEO of Massivit, said: “The appointments of Daniel Birnbaum and Gabriel Shachor are an important pillar in building our management backbone and executing the company’s new business strategy. We are assembling a team with proven experience and deep expertise that will enable us to pave the way into new markets and deliver breakthrough solutions tailored to the needs of the local and global defense industries.”
Azarzar has held a series of senior leadership roles across both public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as COO of Stratasys, and prior to that as Global COO of Frutarom, the flavors and ingredients company acquired by IFF in 2018. He also served as COO of SodaStream and was part of the founding and management teams of Intel’s manufacturing operations in Kiryat Gat, Israel.
Daniel Birnbaum commented: “I am joining Massivit with the intention of contributing a shift in perspective thinking through the eyes of the customer and the operational mission, not only the technology itself. The ability to manufacture UAV wings within days rather than months is not merely an engineering achievement; it is a strategic event for the defense industry in Israel and globally. This is a revolution that directly addresses the industry’s most pressing need today: speed of development”.
Brig. Gen. (Res.) Gabriel Shachor added: “Massivit brings the defense industry a competitive advantage through a significant reduction in development processes and cycles—one that changes the rules of the game and positions the company with clear superiority in the defense components market. CIM technology enables an efficient and rapid response to operational realities and provides an advanced technological solution for manufacturing critical components. I am confident that the team being built, together with the CEO and Chairman, will lead the company to impressive business achievements.”
Alongside these appointments, Massivit is expanding its business model and establishing Service Bureaus that offer an end-to-end solution—from design and engineering through to composite part manufacturing—without requiring capital expenditure (CapEx) on the customer’s side. In Israel, such a center is already operating in collaboration with Comparts, providing immediate solutions for defense organizations and local aerospace industries.
