PORTLAND, OR, USA and SUZHOU, China, Apr 28, 2021 – The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) and Suzhou Gstarsoft Co. Ltd. (Gstar) are pleased to announce that they have reached a full and final global settlement resolving all disputes stemming from the parties’ prior business relationship, including a lawsuit filed by the ITC against Gstar pending in United States District Courts for the District of Oregon, and a lawsuit filed by Gstar against the ITC pending in the Intermediate People’s Court of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China.
In the United States lawsuit, the ITC had alleged that Gstar misappropriated and improperly used the ITC’s intellectual properties. Gstar denied the allegations, and maintained that it independently developed its products and has independent intellectual property rights. In the Suzhou lawsuit, Gstar sought a declaratory judgment of non-infringement.
The parties’ global settlement fully and conclusively resolves their disputes. No party has admitted any wrongdoing or liability, and there has not been any court finding as to the merits of the parties’ lawsuits. However, in order to resolve the disputes completely and avoid any future misunderstandings, the parties entered into a confidential settlement agreement.
The parties appreciate each other’s efforts in resolving this matter amicably.
