Nidus3D to Offer MEP’s Concrete Additives in Canadian Construction Market

KINGSTON, ON, Canada, Mar 20, 2024 – Nidus3D Ltd. and MEP World Group LLC (MEP) have signed a multiyear partnership agreement. The agreement grants Nidus3D Canadian distribution rights for MEP’s innovative concrete additives for the Canadian construction sector and lead the uptake of the technology in 3D Construction printing sector globally.

“Nidus3D is excited to bring MEP’s innovative, sustainable and cost-effective alternative concrete admixture to the Canadian market,” said Ian Arthur, nidus3D’s President. “It has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about greening the building sector.”

MEP World Group is the manufacturer of SeaMix, a suite of admixtures that incorporates chopped basalt fibres and a graphene slurry. Performance tests and exposure to harsh environments by MEP have shown SeaMix to increase workability, reduce cure times, increase compressive strength, and enhance crack control of concrete compared to other admixtures. In addition the admixture allows for the use of non-potable, brackish or saline water in the production of concrete and use with non-metallic reinforcement.

“Our research shows that Seamix will allow us to build stronger and faster with less cement, saving time, money and CO2 compared to conventional builds” says Rey Rubio, Executive Vice President, Engineering. “We are excited to partner with nidus3D in order to bring SeaMix to the Canadian and 3D Construction printing markets.”

Since 2005, MEP has been providing full-service engineering solutions and led the way in finding smart products, new technologies, and innovative solutions to positively impact communities with the highest sustainability standards available. MEP is a member of the U.S. Green Build Council.
