HANOVER, MD, USA, Jan 20, 2025 – Phillips Federal is honored to announce its award of a 5-year, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock. This pivotal contract will supply state-of-the-art Wire Arc Hybrid Manufacturing (WAHM) hardware, software, system integration, and training services to enhance the U.S. Marine Corps’ (USMC) Advanced Integration Mobile Machine Shop (AIMMS) programs. These initiatives are designed to revolutionize point-of-need manufacturing, enabling faster, more efficient maintenance, repair, and overhaul solutions at the frontline.
“Wire Arc Hybrid Manufacturing enables the U.S. Marine Corps to produce mission-critical components with unparalleled speed, reducing lead times and material waste. The WAHM system’s reduced offset from spindle to welding torch also maximizes the build volume, optimizing manufacturing capability in smaller deployable units.” says Brian Kristaponis, General Manager for Phillips Hybrid.
As a longstanding partner of the Federal Government, Phillips Federal is dedicated to delivering comprehensive support across all facets of this contract, from advanced hardware and seamless system integration to specialized training. Central to this effort is the Phillips Additive Innovation Center at the Rock Island Arsenal Center of Excellence, a premier facility where cutting-edge additive solutions are developed and enhanced to address the Department of Defense’s supply chain challenges and enhance military operational readiness.
“We’re honored to contribute to advancing the operational efficiency and readiness that ensures mission success,” said Tim McClanahan, Co-President of Phillips Federal. “This partnership reaffirms our mission to equip the U.S. military with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies,”
