Apr 28, 2026: Pune, India: Today, Sandvik inaugurated its new Innovation Hub in Pune, India, reinforcing its commitment to digital manufacturing, accelerated innovation, and growth in one of its key strategic markets. The hub strengthens Sandvik’s global innovation ecosystem and supports the development of next-generation solutions in intelligent manufacturing.
Building on its existing Intelligent Manufacturing development site, Sandvik is expanding the location both physically and through a larger engineering footprint across R&D, software, AI, and customer support. The hub will play a central role in advancing digital thread and AI capabilities, driving faster product development and more customer centric solutions for regional and global markets.

The upgraded site offers a modern work environment designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and cross functional teamwork. With open spaces, collaboration areas, and room for future expansion, the hub brings together expertise across Sandvik’s digital manufacturing businesses, with a focus on areas such as CAD/CAM software, artificial intelligence, and end to end digital thread solutions.

Sandvik has been present in India for more than 60 years. India is one of Sandvik’s strategic focus markets, and one with strong growth potential. The Innovation Hub will act as a catalyst for regional and global growth by strengthening R&D capabilities, enhancing collaboration with customers and partners, and contributing to Sandvik’s broader innovation agenda.
“The inauguration of our India Innovation Hub marks an important step in strengthening our global innovation ecosystem. India is a key strategic market for us, not only for its scale but for its exceptional talent pool and growing influence in digital transformation. This investment reinforces our long term commitment to driving sustainable growth and delivering enhanced value to our customers worldwide. The hub will play a critical role in accelerating our business strategy and expanding our capabilities in intelligent manufacturing,” says Mattias Nilsson, President, Business Area Intelligent Manufacturing at Sandvik.
The hub will also play a key role in fostering collaboration with academic institutions and industry partners, supporting skill development and bridging the gap between education and manufacturing applications. This aligns with Sandvik’s broader ambition to build a strong ecosystem for innovation and future talent.
