SUPRA SAEINDIA 2026 Enters Final 4-Month Countdown with Strong Backing from India’s Automotive Industry
From Design to Fabrication – India’s Future Mobility Engineers Gear Up for the Next Big Leap
SUPRA SAEINDIA 2026, India’s premier Formula Student competition organised by SAEINDIA, has officially entered its final four-month countdown, with participating student teams now transitioning from the virtual design and simulation stage into the vehicle fabrication and development phase.
The 13th edition of SUPRA SAEINDIA continues to witness strong support from across the automotive and mobility ecosystem — including OEMs, component manufacturers, simulation technology leaders, testing agencies, academic institutions, and industry associations — reinforcing the event’s role as one of India’s largest industry-academia engineering platforms.
The competition currently brings together:
• 75 engineering institutions
• 2500+ student participants
• Teams from 16 states across India
• Dedicated Internal Combustion (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) categories
Recently, advanced virtual technical training sessions conducted by Ansys (part of Synopsys) and Dassault Systèmes were successfully concluded for participating teams. These industry-led programmes focused on simulation, vehicle design validation, CAD engineering workflows, structural analysis, and performance optimisation using globally recognised engineering tools.
With the virtual design phase now completed, teams are actively moving towards fabrication, subsystem integration, testing, and prototype development of their Formula Student vehicles.
The next major phase of SUPRA SAEINDIA 2026 will involve:
• Submission of Design Reports
• Cost and Manufacturing Reports
• Business Presentation Reports
• Multiple rounds of Technical Query Resolution Sessions with expert evaluators
These stages are designed to evaluate not only engineering capability, but also project planning, manufacturability, business understanding, cost optimisation, and real-world automotive problem-solving skills.
The event continues to receive strong support from key stakeholders across the automotive value chain, including:
• Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) – OEM Support
• Envision Racing – EV & Formula E engagement
• Dassault Systèmes – Engineering software and simulation support
• Ansys (part of Synopsys) – Advanced virtual engineering training
• ICAT – Vehicle testing and homologation ecosystem support
• ARAI – Technical and mobility research support
• ACMA Mobility Foundation – Automotive component industry support
• KIET University – Host Partner
• Munjal Kiriu, Migatronic, Morphine Motorsports, ET Auto, Autocar Professional, EV Tech News and several other industry contributors

SUPRA SAEINDIA 2026 is witnessing increasing engagement from the Indian automotive ecosystem, with more organisations and technology partners expected to join in the coming months.
The competition has evolved beyond a student event into a national platform that connects future engineers with real industry expectations, emerging mobility technologies, motorsport engineering practices, and next-generation manufacturing approaches.
The event is scheduled from 2–5 September 2026 at Buddh International Circuit.
