TUBINGEN, Germany, Aug 10, 2024 – Walter has been honored with the EcoVadis Gold Medal for Sustainability Excellence for the third consecutive year.
This puts Walter in the top 5% of all companies evaluated by EcoVadis worldwide. It shows how good we are at managing sustainability and that we’re committed to being open and honest throughout the supply chain.
What is EcoVadis?
It’s a global company that provides ratings, information, and tools for corporate sustainability. It looks at how private and public companies are doing in four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. These assessments are based on real-world evidence, and the results are presented in easy-to-read scorecards that give companies the insights they need to improve their sustainability performance.
Here’s a quick look at our rating:
Take a look at the Walter scorecard to see how we did in all four categories. Overall, the results are similar to last year, with high scores across the board, and the Environment category still one of our strongest.
An area that really stands out in this year’s rating for Walter is that we scored much higher in the Labor and Human Rights category. This is where EcoVadis looks at how well a company manages its labor practices and respects human rights. This includes fair treatment of employees, health and safety conditions, diversity and inclusion, prevention of child labor, and compliance with international labor standards. We’re pleased to see progress in this important area.
