LUCERNE, Switzerland, Oct 15, 2024 – BETA CAE Systems is thrilled to announce the bug-fix version 24.1.3, for ANSA, EPILYSIS, META, KOMVOS, and FATIQ.
For those of you still working with v24.1.x series, this is an excellent opportunity to make the most of this brand-new release, as it comes to enrich prior versions with critical bug fixes and accelerated performance, along with selected implementations.
Known issues resolved in ANSA
CAD Import/Export
ANSA would report a TRANSL_DISTORTION_ANGLE value of 5.[degrees] as not valid, even though the Translators Distortion angle value of 5 was successfully applied from the GUI and translators.defaults were successfully saved.
GUI
The Global Scaling would be erroneous for Linux with KDE desktop manager.
Model Browser
The Change Representation to Lumped Mass would cause the miscalculation of Mass value. Moreover, when deleting a configuration, the parts that belong solely to this configuration would be deleted.
Connections and Assembly
Focusing on Seamwelds > OVERLAP-SHELL-CLOSED FE Representation, the user-specified width angle would not be taken into consideration during the realization of the FE Representation.
TOPO
The “Curves > Create” function would not snap on nodes, with the Grids flag activated and the Wire flag deactivated.
Shell Mesh
The “Auto paste” option from the “Project” function would not work as expected.
Consequently, the “Paste” option, is now available and appears when the Target is set to Shells and pastes source to target entities regardless of their distance; whereas the “Auto paste” option, appears when Target is set to Faces and pastes source to target entities only under the CONS matching distance.
Volume Mesh
An abrupt termination could occur during volume auto-detection when a laminate material was used for the volume faces.
Focusing on Mesh Parameters Wizard, when creating quality criteria for the Solid Tria mesh type, relevant criteria for the shell mesh would not be created.
Batch Meshing
Considerable quality improvements in CFD anisotropic mesh with zones from sharp edges have taken place in v24.1.3.
DECKs
ANSA would terminate unexpectedly during execution of “Checks>Dependency NASTRAN>Fix Chain” when “Flip Results” button was selected many sequential times.
Moreover, ANSA would not read correctly the thickness information during the Thickness input.
Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS
General
Abrupt abortion would occur in cases where the ids of the model was above 1.000.000.000. A new grid ID upper limit has been set at 2.047.483.646.
Known issues resolved in META
GUI
Zooming in/out the model via mouse wheel will no longer affect workspace’s vertical scrollbar.
Furthermore, META was not following the OS scale factor in Linux with KDE desktop environment.
General
Several cases of unexpected termination have been combatted in v24.1.3.
For instance:
Script editor window would unexpectedly close after performing “Save All” operation on files.
Saving GUI settings would also result in a sudden abortion of META.
Read Results
Stresses from UNV55 were not read correctly.
ParaView results from 2D VTK files would not be read at all.
Focusing on Abaqus, when applying the cyclic symmetry on an analysis with multiple steps, the displacement results were not calculated properly.
Referring to LS-DYNA, geometry with encrypted includes, written in I10 format. was not read properly.
Pam-Crash
META would unexpectedly terminate when reading part data from ERFH5 file.
Fringebar
Abrupt META abortion could occur when adding an extra color in fringe bar.
Annotations
An unexpected termination could occur when deleting an annotation that had the “hide shadowed” option enabled.
Managing Curve Data
ISO Header attributes were not updated after curve modifications.
Filtered results (curves) were not read correctly from TDMS files.
NVH Calculators
Referencing FRF Assembly, when creating a new Node Set response, META would erroneously assign the Original coordinate system, instead of the Global one.
Focusing on Modal Response, unexpected termination would occur due to excessive memory requirements when reading .pch files with Modal Displacements in Transient Response, in case of sort2 format, with many timesteps.
File Export
Complex Stress tensor components in GCS, calculated by Modal Response, were not output correctly in UNV format.
Known issues resolved in KOMVOS
Data Management
Saved filters would not appear under the filter drop-down menu.
From now on, all saved filters which are accessible to the user, are listed and sorted by “DM Modification Date”.
Process Management
Variables of Node Instances would not be displayed in Details tab, when their value was empty.
Machine Learning
DV-based ML Training would unexpectedly terminate if more than 200 experiments were provided.
Known issues resolved in FATIQ
GUI
When importing files with sets, unnecessary messages were printed in the FATIQ notification panel.
Materials
User-defined materials were not displayed on the list when loading multiple tasks.
Compatibility and Supported Platforms
ANSA files saved by all the first and second-point releases of a major version are compatible to each other. New major versions can read files saved by previous ones but not vice versa.
META Project files saved from version 24.1.3 are compatible and can be opened by META version 16.0.0 or later.
Support for Mac OS has been discontinued.
Support for 32-bit platforms has been discontinued for all operating systems.

What to download
All files required for the installation of this version reside in the folders named “BETA_CAE_Systems_v24.1.3”, “KOMVOS_v24.1.3”, and “FATIQ_v24.1.3”, and are dated as of October 7, 2024. These files should replace any pre-releases or other files downloaded prior to that date.
The distribution of this version of our pre- and post-processing suite is packaged in one, single, unified installation file, that invokes the respective installer and guides the procedure for the installation of the required components.
For the installation of the software on each platform type, download from the respective folders, the .sh file for Linux or the .msi file for Windows.
In addition to the above, optionally, the META Viewer is available to be downloaded for each supported platform.
The tutorials and the example files reside in the folder named “TUTORIALS”. This folder includes a complete package, and one with only the updated files.
