HAKUSAN, Ishikawa, Japan, Jun 30, 2026 – Nakamura-Tome Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (CEO: Shogo Nakamura) is pleased to announce the launch of its new ATC multitasking machine, JX-50.
In recent years, demand for small and complex precision components has been increasing, particularly in the medical industry and other high-value manufacturing sectors. As a result, manufacturers are seeking solutions that can achieve higher productivity within limited floor space.
To address these market demands, Nakamura-Tome has developed the JX-50, a new multitasking machine equipped with a tool spindle capable of simultaneous 5-axis machining. The JX-50 combines a compact footprint with high-speed performance, enabling the efficient production of complex precision components while maximizing productivity in space-constrained manufacturing environments.
This machine features a twin opposed-spindle configuration with a tool spindle on the upper side and a turret on the lower side, enabling efficient and highly flexible machining.
In particular, the right spindle is equipped with an X-axis, allowing the left and right spindles to perform machining operations simultaneously without interference. This enables more efficient and flexible machining processes.
As a result, the machine meets increasingly diverse and sophisticated machining requirements while significantly expanding machining possibilities.

Compact Tool Spindle “NT Smart Cube”
The machine is equipped with our proprietary compact tool spindle unit, the “NT Smart Cube” (length: 299 mm). It delivers a maximum spindle speed of 30,000 min⁻¹, enabling high-speed and high-precision machining. In addition, it features an ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) system, with tools stored in an ATC magazine. A standard configuration allows for compact storage of 60 tools, with an option to expand up to 119 tools. Because the additional magazine is arranged vertically, tool capacity can be expanded without increasing the machine’s footprint, enabling both high productivity and efficient use of valuable floor space.

Furthermore, an impressive chip-to-chip time of just 3.3 seconds has been achieved. In addition, the machine is equipped as standard with “ChronoCut α,” software that reduces various idle times and optimizes both machining and non-machining processes. As a result, cycle times have been significantly shortened.

Compact Machine Design
The machine has a compact footprint of just 3,000 mm × 2,000 mm (4,264.4 mm × 2,378 mm including the chip tank and conveyor), making it exceptionally compact for a multitasking machine equipped with a lower turret.
Its space-saving design allows installation in limited floor space while maintaining high productivity, providing greater flexibility in factory layout and production planning.
A Multitasking Machine Designed to Cut the Burden on Operators
The control panel is designed with usability in mind and can be both swiveled and repositioned, allowing operators to work from the most comfortable and efficient position. Because the panel can be moved close to the ATC magazine, tool setup and preparation can be performed quickly and easily.
In addition, the distance from the front of the machine to the spindle center is limited to just 450 mm, providing excellent access to the work area while reducing operator fatigue.
A wide range of optional equipment is also available, including automatic and manual tool setters as well as a remnant ejector, enabling flexible machine configurations to meet a variety of production requirements.

The “JX-50” is a next-generation ATC-type multitasking machine that combines compact size, high speed, and advanced functionality. It offers a new style of production for high-precision machining applications, including medical component manufacturing.
Comment from Shogo Nakamura/CEO
In recent years, components have been becoming increasingly smaller and more complex. While process integration continues to advance, there is now a growing need to achieve higher levels of production efficiency. In addition, as lot sizes decrease and production shifts toward high-mix, low-volume manufacturing, ease of setup, machining methods, and flexibility in process design have become more important than ever.
Against this backdrop, demand for performing diverse and complex machining within a limited space is on the rise, drawing increasing attention to compact ATC multitasking machines.
The JX-50 is an ATC multitasking machine developed specifically to address these on-site needs. It is capable of handling a wide range of operations, from rough machining to fine micromachining. Despite its compact size, it provides a large machining area and high cutting performance. Its ability to flexibly adapt to a wide variety of machining requirements is also one of its key strengths.
We sincerely hope that many customers will experience our new product, the JX-50.
Let’s work together to cut the burden of manufacturing on your shop floor!
