TOMPAERO to Use Nanovia’s FDM Technology for Development of 3D-Printed Parts for its Cargorilla Drone

LOUARGAT, France, Jan 27, 2025 – Nanovia is delighted to announce a partnership agreement with TOMPAERO, a pioneering company in aerospace and industrial solutions.

Cargorilla, the first AI-powered, modular mid-size cargo eVTOL UAV

This close collaboration will enable TOMPAERO to integrate Nanovia filaments into the manufacture of functional parts for its innovative industrial drone, the Cargorilla. Designed for logistics applications, the Cargorilla is capable of transporting up to 15 kg of material over an impressive distance of 200 km. Weighing in at 40 kg and with a 3-meter wingspan, the drone will be used for emergency transport, such as transporting grafts or blood bags. Its launch is scheduled for 2028.

In this partnership, Nanovia expertise in advanced materials for 3D printing at TompAero’s service, creating tailor-made filaments that offer particular properties adapted to the specifications of the Cargorilla drone. These customized materials are designed to meet the stringent requirements of performance, light weight and mechanical strength in high-precision aeronautical applications. These materials will also be able to withstand the variations in temperature, pressure and harsh environmental conditions to which the drone may be exposed when transporting materials.

The use of 3D printing with these technical materials enables TompAero to design customized parts and rapidly prototype functional components. This approach not only reduces costs and production times, but also optimizes the drone’s overall performance for complex logistics missions, whether in urban or more remote areas.
