National, March 11, 2025: Nemetschek Group India and Anna University, Chennai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an AEC Centre of Excellence aimed at enhancing industry readiness for engineering and architecture students. The agreement exemplifies a shared commitment to bridging the skills gap in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry by integrating Nemetschek technology and industry-relevant training into the academic curricula.
The MoU signing was held at the CUIC Auditorium, Anna University, in the presence of esteemed academicians, industry experts, and key stakeholders from the engineering education ecosystem. The initiative focused on raising awareness about emerging job opportunities and career advancements in core engineering fields such as Civil Engineering and Architecture, addressing concerns over the declining interest in traditional engineering disciplines amidst the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Information Technology (IT).

The AEC Centre of Excellence will focus on equipping students with industry-relevant skills, offering specialized training in Building Information Modelling (BIM), structural analysis, and digital construction technologies. The collaboration aims to enhance the employability of graduates by aligning academic programs with industry requirements, ensuring that they are well-prepared to contribute effectively to India’s growing infrastructure and construction sectors.
