CADENAS Joins Industrial Digital Twin Association

AUGSBURG, Germany, May 10, 2024 – CADENAS GmbH is pleased to announce its new membership in the Industrial Digital Twin Association e.V. (IDTA). The IDTA is the first point of contact for all aspects of the standardized Digital Twin and offers a platform for participation to all industrial organizations. The goal is to establish the Digital Twin for components, machines, systems and entire factories as an open source technology and to further develop it together with the industry.

The eleven participants in the C-Level meeting are pleased with the recognition they have received.

The Augsburg-based software manufacturer CADENAS is already actively involved in the development of Digital Twins through its participation in various research projects and its membership in various committees and expert groups, and is now expanding its presence in this area.

Administration Shell becomes New Industry Standard

Membership in IDTA provides CADENAS with direct access to expert knowledge on the digitization of industry in all sectors. The Asset Administration Shell (AAS) maps partial models of Digital Twins. It is able to map the entire lifecycle of products, machines or entire plants. The AAS is therefore of enormous importance for the digitalization of value chains and is becoming more and more important worldwide. CADENAS has the opportunity to further expand the potential of the Asset Administration Shell through its cooperation in IDTA.

CADENAS enables access to the Asset Administration Shell

The demand for detailed information about Digital Twins is increasing, as can be seen from the analysis of the download behavior on the CADENAS platform 3Dfindit. The Asset Administration Shell stores all important information and data of a specific product throughout its entire lifecycle, such as the digital nameplate, technical data or 3D CAD data. Component manufacturers who compile the most important data for their products and make it available in AASX format on 3Dfindit increase their sales and competitive opportunities.

“Since the beginning of the year CADENAS provides the administration shell for download. A growing demand (see evaluation as graphic) has clearly signaled to us that it is a must for CADENAS to become an active member of the IDTA”, says Jürgen Heimbach, CEO of CADENAS.

“With its platform, CADENAS provides access to 3D models from a large number of manufacturers in the standardized format of the AAS. This makes AAS easily and quickly available in engineering systems. The access figures for AAS formats on 3Dfindit are already impressive. Together with CADENAS we are looking forward to increase this number”, says Meik Billmann, Managing Director of IDTA.

An analysis carried out by CADENAS illustrates the massive increase in AASX downloads.

AAS at Hannover Messe 2024

At the world’s most important trade fair for industrial technologies, the Hannover Messe, the administration shell was once again an important topic in 2024. CADENAS and IDTA as well as the companies BAUSCH+STRÖBEL, FESTO, WAGO, SICK, HARTING, BOSCH REXROTH, PHOENIX CONTACT, SIEMENS and ENGEL discussed this topic at the C-Level Meeting. CADENAS GmbH took this opportunity to express its gratitude for the support in the form of an award for all members of the C-Level Meeting. Eleven awards were presented.

CADENAS honors the members of the C-Level Meeting at the Hannover Messe with an award.
