ASK Chemicals to Offer CPFD’s Arena-flow in Japan

HOUSTON, TX, USA, Mar 4, 2026 – CPFD Software is pleased to announce a direct distribution and collaboration agreement with ASK Chemicals Japan Co., Ltd. (ASK Chemicals Japan), under which ASK Chemicals Japan will serve as the official distributor of Arena-flow in Japan, providing software licensing, technical support, implementation assistance, and practical application proposals.

This direct agreement between CPFD Software and ASK Chemicals Japan was developed to maximize convenience, support, and accessibility for the important Japanese foundry industry.

Expanding Arena-flow Adoption in the Japanese Foundry Industry

Arena-flow is purpose-built to simulate physics that other tools struggle to resolve: the air-driven, discrete sand flow that governs sand core and mold making.  Trusted by OEMs, foundries, core shops, tooling providers, and equipment suppliers, Arena-flow complements metal flow and solidification software, resulting in optimized processes and cores that are right the first time.

While Arena-flow has historically been used primarily for cold box processes, the new collaboration will expand its application in Japan to additional coremaking technologies, including:

  • Shell molding processes
  • Inorganic binder systems
  • Alternative sand core manufacturing techniques

Through direct collaboration between ASK Chemicals Japan and CPFD Software, this new agreement aims to strengthen local support and accelerate practical adoption of simulation tools within Japanese foundry operations.

Leadership Perspectives

“We are very pleased to begin offering Arena-flow in the Japanese market as the official distribution partner under our collaboration with CPFD Software.

In addition to our conventional proposals centered on the Cold Box process, we will expand our approach to include Shell Molding and Inorganic Binder systems, with a view toward broader coremaking applications. Through this initiative, we aim to ensure that Arena-flow delivers practical value to foundry operations across Japan.

Beyond addressing defects related to sand filling and curing processes, we also seek to contribute to improved efficiency within the Japanese foundry industry by extending tooling life through optimized pressure settings and achieving optimal cycle times.

Going forward, we will continue to work closely with CPFD Software to support the efficiency and digitalization of casting processes in Japan, and to contribute to the advancement of next-generation foundry technologies.” commented, Hiroshi Namba, President, ASK Chemicals Japan.

“We are excited to launch this new business relationship directly with ASK Chemicals Japan, expanding our commitment to the important Japanese foundry market.

Japanese companies are recognized for global quality standards and were among some of the first Arena-flow users more than twenty years ago. With this new direct collaboration, we look forward to expanding use beyond Cold Box processes to broader core-making processes, specially for Shell Molding and Inorganic Binder Systems.

We believe ASK Chemicals Japan has the experience and expertise necessary for maximum success.”, commented, Peter Blaser, Vice President, CPFD Software.

About CPFD Software

CPFD Software is advancing multiphase simulation and technology. Our flagship product, Barracuda Virtual Reactor, is a physics-based engineering software package that simulates the three-dimensional, transient, fluid-particle hydrodynamics, heat balance, and chemical reactions in industrial fluidized bed reactors and other fluid-particle systems.

Virtual Reactor enables researchers and engineers working with diverse sustainability, renewables, and decarbonization technologies to explore a broad range of ideas, reduce physical testing costs, and minimize development risk, all while accelerating commercialization, scale-up, and overall time to market. The simulation results provide an objective basis for effectively communicating technological merits to partners, customers, and investors, while increasing market exposure and bolstering patent applications. The Virtual Reactor technology can be accessed via software licensing, services, or custom collaborative arrangements.
